River Bend Winery is located on 10th Street between Main and Market in the heart of downtown Louisville. The building that houses the retail area was built in 1880. It is a two story building with wonderful appointments and great openness. The first floor comprises the wine tasting area with a spacious bar that is unlike any in the area. An intimate nook has been located toward the back of the building with leather couches and easy chairs that will accommodate up to 10 people. A glass wall has been added to separate the tasting room from the manufacturing area for safety and sound consideration. By having this separation, the patrons may view the many activities that are required in the making of wine. An appetizer/bistro kitchen has created the ultimate wine tasting experience with the culinary creations to compliment the fabulous wines.

The newly renovated second floor is a spaciouis 3000 square feet of unencumbered space that has seen many events since opening. With the ability to seat 200 people, it has proven to be just right for corporate events, wedding parties, birthday parties, holiday parties and art shows. Since there is a full bar and stage upstairs all requests can be satisfied. Our Chef, Bill Smith, has been very instrumental in accommodating the food requests of the party goers. His ability to work within their budget has made for a very seamless transition for the event sponsors.

The atmosphere created in the main tasting room on the weekends has been enhanced by the live music varying from blues to jazz performers. Let the wine, food and music take you to another place as you will feel like your in New Orleans, Chicago or Greenwich Village and not at home.

Making wine, like art, is an emotion evoking experience. And there is no better artist than our Wine Master Leonard R. Olson. His palette is 100% Kentucky grown grapes that he has orchestrated into award winning wines over the past several years. And his credentials are impeccable since his wine making experiences are over 30 years in the making.

The current wine offerings that River Bend Winery is so proud to offer vary from the refreshingly sweet whites to the semidry and dry reds that are so popular with today’s requests. However, we can’t forget the 2 dessert wines that are consistent requests, Chocolate Decadence and Kathy’s Sweet Seduction. The best way to describe them is only by truly tasting them!

Thursday from 5 pm till 11 pm
Friday from 5 pm till 1 am
Saturday from 5 pm till 1 am

The winery is available for rental 7 days a week. We also offer private tours for groups of 10 or more with a prior appointment.
